Fetish Doll

This harpy doll is adorned with the hair of a dead clairvoyant. It is used in seances and other rituals to communicate with the spirit realm. It combines greek mythology, voodoo and spiritualism.

Spiritualism is based around the belief that the dead can impart wisdom through its ministers in the form of channeling and seance.

Originally wind spirits, the Harpies' initial role is to carry to Hades the souls of the dead. In later myths the Harpies are birds with pale female human faces and long hair.

Voodoo means "Spirit of God." It is a combination of ancient African religions. The Voodoo doll is used to represent the spirit of a specific person.
